The Human League underlined their special bond with Wolverhampton by staging a triumphant return to the Civic Hall.

The electronic three-piece regard the city as one of their key tour dates outside hometown Sheffield and got a packed crowd singing and dancing with last night's lively 90-minute show.

After nearly three decades on the road the band know how to put on a performance - increasing the frequency of hits amid more obscure moments from their back catalogue as the show reached its finale. Known predominantly for Don't You Want Me, which was on its march to become the Christmas number one 24 years ago, the band have several classic tunes which would be recognisable to even a casual listener to Radio 2.

Electric Dreams, Human, Fascination, Tell Me When and Love Action were all played and freshened up with remixed versions which managed to retain the songs' original appeal.
